David Gwynne is a 35 year veteran banker with a unique combination of front line sales, technology and operations, and product management experience. Prior to joining South State Bank as Director of Card Services, he started up debit card and ATM businesses at Capital One, Commercial Banking at China Construction Bank (while with Bank of America), AT&T Universal Card, Merrill Lynch Cash Management Accounts, Comp-U-Card Visa and AARP Visa Cards, and the first online banking for Chase Bank (Bank One).
At Capital One (COF) David built and led Innovation Teams that used human centered ideation sessions across the enterprise to create a new banking model using process simulation tools, bots, and artificial intelligence tools. Within several organizations, he has developed principles, practices and frameworks to transform the culture from “waterfall” to agile, doubling process improvement and speed to market for new products. Several of these efforts included building labs to develop innovations and delivering them to market.
