Wayne Miller

Wayne Miller is the Executive Director of The Venture Center, a globally recognized non-profit organization producing award-winning, revenue-generating financial technology accelerator programs for the world’s biggest financial services organizations. Bringing over four decades of proven performance in a variety of industries and leadership roles, Miller’s combination of entrepreneurial achievement and his “Fortune 100” experience makes for an executive who is comfortable in start-up and mature business environments.

Before joining The Venture Center in 2017, Wayne served as CEO of a private-equity backed medical drive manufacturer. His efforts dramatically improved the company’s channel access and sales while simultaneously building on an accelerator platform to help his client companies improve business processes, sales, and distribution methods. Wayne also worked with two start-up technology companies in the healthcare and Cybersecurity verticals and was COO of a $45 million transportation and logistics company. With over 1000 vehicles, five facilities, and a staff of 1500, his efforts generated a significant increase in bottom line profits and system-wide process improvement.

While he served as CEO of Admine.com, a start-up internet advertising company, Wayne pioneered the use of the Internet for recycling print and broadcast advertising for local and regional advertisers while providing new revenue streams for those generating the content. A world-class advisory board and investment team grew Admine.com to 60 employees in just six months. Miller raised $18 million in venture capital and developed relationships with some of the world’s premier media companies, including Scripts, Gannet, Hearst, and Clear Channel.

Previous to his work at Admine.com, Wayne served as Director of Business Development for Proxicom (PXCM), an Internet consulting and development company. Wayne joined the company pre-IPO and was directly responsible for developing consistent business development practices for the organization.

Prior to his time at Proxicom, Wayne was the National Director of Business Development for Deloitte. Within the “big five” professional services firm, he helped initiate the concept of an independent business development function. But before he took on “corporate America,” Wayne found success as a restaurateur and is best known for New Orleans Emporium in Washington, D.C., which food critics wrote up as one of the best new restaurants in America.

Wayne currently resides in Little Rock, Arkansas, with his wife, Toni. Wayne serves on the board of the University of Arkansas Little Rock, volunteers as Vice President of the board, iTN Southern Delaware, and is an organizer/mentor for the Kaufman Foundation’s Million Cups program. He was a member of the Greater Washington Board of Trade, Northern Virginia Technology Council. Kiwanis International inducted Miller as a lifetime member in 2006 to honor his fundraising efforts for children. He has taught Entrepreneurship as an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland and received the Governor’s Service Award for the State of Virginia for his efforts as a board member of the Washington Regional Alcohol Program, helping to reduce impaired driving. Wayne attended the University of Pittsburgh in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
