Prior to joining RSM, Hilary spent years in the advisory services practice at a Big Four accounting firm. Highlights of her experience include: extensive experience in portfolio analysis, business process analysis, data analysis and computer assisted audit techniques (CAATs), methodology development, process documentation, and detailed controls testing. Extensive experience in operations for financial institutions including the following specialized areas: secondary mortgage operations including broker management, commission calculation, hedging the pipeline, fair valuation, and management of the quality control function; correspondent banking including new client establishment, security trading and settlement, treasury services, clearing, and international wires; interest rate risk including review of inputs to the model, evaluation, and reporting.
Hilary has led accounts for a variety of high-profile financial institutions including publicly traded banks, banks that are actively involved in M&A activity, and banks with international presence. She also has experience leading all phases of SOX compliance projects including risk assessment, scoping, and documentation, testing and reporting across all business processes. Additional experience includes regulatory compliance related to financial institutions, specifically in the following areas: NACHA Compliance, Deposit Compliance, HMDA, and BSA/AML. Special internal audit projects including risk assessment, scoping, development of sampling methodology, and development of test procedures. Examples include identifying revenue leakage for a client processing high volumes of small dollar transactions using data analysis techniques or developing methodology to determine accuracy of investment classifications contained in a portfolio valued at $300 billion.
Hilary is a certified internal auditor, certified money laundering specialist, and holds a certification in control self-assessment. She also holds an ACAMS certification.
She received a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Florida.
